The Legitimate Tarot in Portuguese is interesting because it greatly shortens the readings by containing only 40 cards, 22 of which are Major Arcana and 16 Minor Arcana, complete with 2 more cards that symbolize wealth and life.
The Major Arcana are numbered from 1 to 22 with the Fool being considered 21 (zero).
The first 7 cards of these Arcana have to do with the consulter’s intellectual life, the next 7 with the moral life, and the remaining 7 with the material life. Number 21 Crazy is the transition. Thus they represent the physical and spiritual forces and influences that affect our lives, such as illness, death, struggle, strength, power, love, religion, disputes, or war.
The Minor Arcana consist only of the court figures and Aces.
Because of the size of this deck (pocket), it is great to carry with you at all times. It is a very simple deck.
It is a Brazilian origin deck, so some names are different from the Portuguese language.
It contains 40 cards and also contains a 15-page pocket guide book (Portuguese) of the same size as the cards, with abbreviated instructions for each card.
